Hello Pixie Chick Fans:
This will be a smaller post but hopefully one with a big message!
We’re approaching our 6 month anniversary and I would like to say Thank You. I’m rediscovering the power of gratitude and hope that you take my thanks and spread it around in your life, (spread it everywhere)!
I realized it had been some time since you folks heard from me and then I had the yucky feeling of not knowing what to write!! Not writer's block, just the startling realization that I had to post this week! I’ve began a Gratitude Kick once again and I’m currently on Day 9. In my Gratitude Journal, I list at least 10 things I’m grateful for each day. And last night, as the universe works, Cody and I went to the movie to see the new X Men movie, (I enjoyed it but had no reference for X Men, the last movie I saw was the very old cartoon version on VHS that I associate with Pizza Hut when I was probably 5)!
Anywho: The last of the previews played, the screen went black, and then the very pretty and bubbly actress, Alexandra Shipp appeared and thanked the audience for coming to the cinema. It was the first time I’ve ever seen that. I thought it was a great idea and gesture! Really people, we keep them in business! It is a humbling and personal gesture for 20th Century Fox to thank their audience and I think that more should take a lesson and do it too! Imagine if other business genuinely thanked us for their patronage! Sorry for the rant, but I clearly loved it!
At the end, if you stay for all of the credits….which you should for the extra scene (not a spoiler...is it?) 20th Century Fox announced that over 15,000 jobs were supplied by the making of this film...HOLY COW! 15…Thousand! My initial reaction was just that: Holy Cow! Then on the drive home I was lost in thought wondering what film I could make that would create that many jobs…
So, back to gratitude:
First, I would like to thank you, our loyal friends and fans. You have returned week after week reading our blogs, absorbing the knowledge we offered, and hopefully enjoying our entertaining content! I thank you for the support, your viewership, and your generosity to Like, Follow, Tweet, and Share us on your social media. I certainly appreciate your viewership and wish to continue our relationship. Please feel free to comment and reply even more in the future; we’d love to hear your thoughts!
I’d also like to thank my amazing contributors, for all your hard work, creative and fun posts, and for helping me out during my family’s medical challenges. Knowing that I’d have content each week was such a relief. I loved reading your articles and learning more about you and your subjects, from Travel Tips around New Orleans, Movie Recommendations and Honoring the Fallen Artists, you have made me smile, thankful and proud to have each of you as contributors for Pixie Chick. I do hope that we can continue our creative relationship!
And lastly, (only for dramatic effect) I’d like to thank my FABULOUS friend and Senior Producer, Meghan Lima! Meghan, we have been friends since middle school and we have shared laughter and tears and everything in between. From Theater Class to Choir, to late night stargazing hang outs to coffee dates, you have continuously demonstrated the loyalty, kindness, and thoughtfulness that makes you a blessing of a friend. Thank you for all the last minute fixes, putting up with late submissions, and managing all the technical aspects that I know nothing of! I so appreciate you, our friendship, and your creative talent. Thank you for being on this journey with me from the very beginning and I hope that we can share many (successful) years together at Pixie Chick Productions!
So once again, thank you dear friends, writers, contributors, creative consultants, and our fans. Thank you for your loyalty, your interest in hearing our voices, and for coming along on the Pixie Chick journey thus far. I invite you to stay with us and see where our bright future takes us!
