When I started college, I realized I had a lot more time on my hands than I used to in high school. I had a less structured schedule than before and I wasn’t much of a partier feeling more comfortable spending my Friday and Saturday nights in my dorm room rather than at some kegger. With all that free time I started watching a lot more movies than I ever did. My best friend at another university, two states away, and I would schedule movie nights watching whatever seemed good at the moment.
Then in 2012 I started writing down all the names of the movies I watched. At first I would watch a movie a week, but then by the summer, I could watch 4 movies a day. I inadvertently started watching films just to see how many I could watch in an entire year. (By the way, I ended up watching 301 movies that year.)

The average stoner movie with its stereotypical character and plot is well and good and has its place, but it leaves some wanting more. When I smoke, I tend to appreciate a well thought out story line involving weed, or some kind of fantastical, mind-expanding, reality-bending adventure. This 4/20, when your friend suggests watching Harold and Kumar or Half-Baked, try one of these instead. Who knows, it may just become your next 4/20 classic.
This post can be a lot of things; I’ll let you decide…for now. It might be silly, a brilliant idea, or the first step to manifest my ideal reality; but for me it’s brave, honest, and very fun. Only a few close people know this about me—(here comes the silly part...laugh now, but I know you do it as well...)
I imagine my talk-show interviews...and actually pretend to have them!! Phew wrote it, now I’m smiling. It’s all innocent and fun, but over the years—since I was about seven, I’ve imagined myself on talk shows doing press for fictional movies, interviews for magazines, and even the various toothpaste and facial cleansing commercials.
