Hair Virgin

Over the years I’ve had a variety of hairstyles. As a kid I’d probably mostly be remembered for my short hair.

It took about 5 years and a few short looks, awkward growing phases until I’ve reached a “past the shoulder” length. I’m quite pleased with it, however, I’m craving something different.

Maybe you can tell, but I’ve left something out from my hair evolution. I’ve never colored my hair, not even pharmacy boxed color, school spirit day color spray. My hair is a color virgin.
I love my color and my hair. It’s so darn silky that it won’t take a curl. I need to wash it every day (although I try to stretch that out with a lazy ponytail or occasionally dry shampoo). I really love my hair, but I’m really curious about playing with color.

This might not seem like a major change but for me this is a big step and quite the commitment. I'll have to live like this for no less than eight weeks I've been told.

I've checked pinterest, all sorts of google searches and I've narrowed down my likes. I'll chat with my stylist about it but I'm pretty sure I'll go in a certain direction. As for the cut, I want length and there's no way that I'll be curling my hair everyday so the fancy waves will be a shortly lived daydream.

I looked to variety of hairstyle inspirations: of course my (future) BFF EDoggs (Emma Watson), Lucy Hale, and Sarah Hyland. I even checked out Anna Kendrick and Lily Collins recently.

However, I'm very curious about how different styles are actually done. Flat irons, curlers, curling irons, even blow-drying techniques are not something I've mastered. At work, I've asked around some friends for their  YouTube tutorials suggestions. It's laughable that these folks that after a simple 10 minute video my hair  "will looks like theirs." Unfortunately  it really doesn't but I'm sure with practice I could improve my skills. I really would rather have a stylist do my hair all the time but since that's in my cards right now I guess it's YouTube and the mirror for me!

There are only a few days left until my appointment. I love my hair, it’s so shiny and finally looking kinda cute. (Of course that always happens). I'm enjoying my hair in its last days as a Hair Dye Virgin.

I will try to do a before and after photo and once I get the cut and color I will let you know how it goes!!

So it’s been a few days since changed my hair. It’s all so new still, I’m constantly surprised when I look at the mirror. I enjoy the sun kissed waves, I feel ready for summer!

I’m glad I took a chance and played around with something new! After all it’s only hair and it will grow back!

I love love love your hair!
Personally, I have a thing for blondes, maybe not on my own hair (bless my heart circa 2010 when I cut my hair chin length - inverted bob - and dyed it bright blonde). I do, however, love the look of a razor sharp blonde bob! Maybe in a past life, I could rock it!

Chang is good, and it's nice to know that your hair grows back and you experiment as much as you want.

These days, I drool over Instagram of any unicorn hair - look it up - it's so magical!
