Just because it’s nearly February doesn’t mean that our New Year's resolutions are an idea of the past. I am pleased to say that I enjoyed a very quiet but super fun night staying in with the family and my BF. We watched Star Wars, episodes 4 and 5 that night and finished just in time to watch the ball drop. Then my cousin lit fireworks (not sure if that’s legal) but some of the neighbors seemed to enjoy it! For me, New Years isn’t a big deal. It’s in the middle of winter (which I hate) it’s cold and dark and I’m typically grumpy — I should consider hibernating. But this is a big year for me. I have so many goals and plans. The weeks and months leading up to New Years led me to believe that I wanted 2015 to end. I was grumpy (really, end of fall/early winter is not my fav.) and Thanksgiving and Christmas came with more stress than heartfelt moments. I was ready for a new start but also overwhelmed and very pessimistic about it actually happening. (Cue the Debbie Downer theme). For the family and friends reading this, and even the strangers—I’m sorry! My negative energy consumed me. But upon a reflective “year in review” exercise, I realized that 2015 was actually wonderful in so many ways.
7. Managed to get through the holidays mostly happy and healthyAnd that was just in the last six months of 2015! Looking at that list, those were the career highlights; I also had sweet moments (which I’ll keep private). I’m a person who likes plans, routines, and goals. Sometimes I need help refining the details of each, and thankfully I have a wonderful troop of people willing to help me when I ask for it. 2016 can and will be our year! As long as we maintain our focus, the right attitude, and take on our goals with step-by-step plans, we will make our dreams come true! Join me in this campaign #getyourdreamon ! Whatever it may be: get fit and healthy, write a YA novel, start a band, ask out your crush or decide the next step of your life, you can achieve it all and have the results you really want! This blog will definitely keep me in check with my goals. I know that I have y’all to hold me accountable—and I want “it”. I want my goals and dreams to actually happened. There is no point in waiting around—I know that no one is going to knock on my door and say “oh hey, do you, by chance, have an amazing screenplay you’d like to share with the world?” Not going to happen! But what can happen is this: Me: Hey world, guess what?! I have a screenplay that I want to share with you! World: Sounds cool, let’s see it ☺ And so goes my conversation with the world…but a little less surfer bro more preppy and peppy pixie chick. Whatever your goals, your dreams, big or small, Get your dream on! Believe in new years as a rebirth and fresh start. You can make this year yours, we can do it together! Happy New Year & Get your dream on ! Holly xoxo
